The message? What message?

Digby asked how liberals/progressives/Democrats should shape their message on the illegal NSA wiretapping.

The fact that we even have to ask this question really bothers me. In my mind, the issue is obvious: There can be NO tapping of Americans phones, emails etc without a warrant. But somehow, someway the issue is being presented as Are you strong or weak on National Defense? Now just how the #$%@^& did that happen? Who changed the subject?

Well, as usual, the Republicans changed the subject. They got caught red-handed breaking the law and decided the best way out of it was to change the subject. But I suggest we change it back. I suggest that we keep it simple and to the point.

Wiretapping without a warrant is NEVER acceptable!

Wiretapping without a warrant is against the law.

Wiretapping without a warrant violtates the 4th Amendment of the Constitution.
